my-writerly-life

I write.  A lot.

Blog posts, a book, newsletters, email readings…I’m in constant writing mode.

It might be because I’m a Gemini (we love to communicate) or it may be that I simply love to share ideas.  But although I do all this writing…I still hesitate to call myself a writer.

It’s because I assume writers are different folk. Scholarly, well-read, and super-intellectual.  Truth be told, many are. But that’s not me.  I was a great student but certainly no scholar.  I read a lot but none of the smarty-pants stuff my daughter reads (yes, she’s a writer with an MFA in creative writing).  I’m more pop culture than cultured. Heck, I even confused Medea with Tyler Perry once.

So writer? How could I consider myself one when I don’t fit the stereotype that I created in my head? (There are stereotypes about tarot readers too – and I don’t fit those.)

But I write.

A lot.

Every. Single. Day.

I am a writer.
