A 30-second spread for when you need a simple “yes or no” answer

Although “yes or no” questions are frowned upon in some tarot circles, sometimes you need that sort of direct answer. For example, if you’re wondering if you should say yes to some opportunity and you don’t have a lot of time to think about it.

Here’s a fast ’n furious tarot spread for those times when you need a clear yes or no.

Separate your deck into Majors and Minors. Put the Majors aside because you won’t be working with them.

Now, shuffle the Minors thoroughly while thinking about your question. Once you feel you’re ready, put the deck facedown on the table.

Dealing from the top of the deck, flip cards one by one until you get an Ace – or have dealt thirteen cards. Repeat this three times, until you have three piles in front of you.

If you have three Aces, your answer is a clear (and happy) yes! Yay!

If you have only one or two Aces, it’s a yes….but. In this case, I interpret the other cards with the Ace(s).

For example let’s say you ask if your party will be a success and you get the Ace of Wands, Four of Cups, King of Swords reversed. This says it will be a success but some jerk may try to start an argument after a couple of drinks.

If you have no Aces, it’s a firm no. Fuggetabout it.

Pay attention if the Aces are reversed because that will still be a yes to me but it will indicate that an issue will need to be resolved.

This is one of my favorite ways to get an answer in a hurry. Test it out and see what you think. (Three Aces says you’ll love it!)

PS if you’re in a total rush, feel free to leave the Majors in!

Psst…sadly, I don’t remember where I learned this spread any longer so I cannot give credit where credit is due.
