2026 is a few weeks away. Frankly, I’m happy to see it go. It’s been a wild ride, some of it good, some not-so-great. It’s not that surprising considering we’ve been in a Hermit year, which comes with lessons and new wisdom. While I hoped those would be the pleasant kind, the Universe had a different idea.
That’s the thing with the Hermit card – you don’t get to choose the lessons. As 2025 closes down, we’re all a bit wiser for the experiences.
2026 promises to be a game-changer. It’s governed by the Wheel of Fortune, a card associated with opportunities and luck. Keep in mind that doesn’t mean everyone is about to win the lottery. The Wheel is unpredictable – some folks might experience a twist of fate that turns everything on its head, while others might have “dumb luck,” the ability to be in the right place at the right time. No matter what happens, good or bad, the Wheel keeps turning. You have to roll with the punches and be ready to leap when the doors of opportunity open.
Here’s how you find the Universal year card:
Add up the numbers in 2026. 2 + 0 + 2 + 5 = 10.
Next, you match that number to a Major Arcana. 10 is associated with The Wheel of Fortune. The Wheel is fate, lady luck, opportunity, and risk. It represents a turning point. The collective is ready for change, the real kind. Events may occur that seem fated. Leaders will rise while some kings will lose their crowns. Many surprises will happen along the way. Again: the Wheel is unpredictable.
We’re all on this ride together, so it’s best to roll forward toward a new destiny.

Keep in mind, ten is a compound number – it can be reduced. 1 + 0 =1. One is the number for new beginnings. There may be new experiences, people, offers, and situations that propel your life into a new direction. Of course, some may drop in your lap, but you may decide to get the ball rolling.
One is the Magician card, a reminder that you have agency, power, and skills. If you want to manifest a fresh start, gather your resources, focus your will, and stay on it. So mote it be!
The Wheel of Fortune is aligned with Jupiter, a planet associated with expansion. 2026 is for big thinking, bold ideas, and broader horizons. See the world, take classes, explore new cultures and philosophies – the more open you are, the more you grow. Jupiter is also generous – how can you share your knowledge and resources? Look at where you are needed – and do your best.
On the world’s stage, fortune favors the bold – and kind. After last year, we’re wide-eyed to the ills of the world. Now we can do something about it. That means demanding equity and sharing the wealth. We might see some figures getting richer while others lose fortunes. The leaders who are generous and progressive could do well, while those who want to roll us back to the 30s might get stuck in the mud. The Wheel wants progress.
Here are some things to do to best move through 2026:
1. Be generous. Give back as much as you can.
2. Travel as much as you can (and if it feels safe).
3. Learn new things.
4. Hold the wealthy accountable. They need to pay their fair share instead of hoarding their money. Jupiter loves abundance, but not greedy assholes. Remember: it wants to share.
5. Demand better from your government.
6. Get off social media and into the world. Meet your neighbors, attend local events, shop small, be part of your community.
7. Take chances – but be smart about it.
8. Get comfortable with change. Nothing is permanent – especially this year.
Most importantly, do not lose hope. It’s been a rough few years. 2026 will bring improvements, but there is still a long way to go. We need you to remain strong and optimistic. Together we win at this thing called life.
