The first two days of RS11 have started out to fabulous! I arrived on Wednesday because I wanted to join my tarot peeps on the bus ride into the city. (The Amberstones – pictured above – provide this as an optional part of the Reader’s Studio.) A small group of us were dropped off in Columbus Circle for shopping, exploring and of course, eating!
A few of us headed to a sushi restaurant and enjoyed chatting about – what else – tarot! In the picture above, we are waiting for our food (and driving the people next to us nuts asking them to take our pictures!). This was a multi continent bunch – with Stella Luna, Ann and Linda from Australia and Catherine Chapman from England, we were able to cover 3 countries! (And this was Catherine’s first time with sushi – she was in good hands with me as her food guide!)
Thursday I woke up early to stretch out and head out to breakfast. Had a lovely time with Catherine and Coventry Creations candle makers Jacki Smith and Patty Shaw. The buffet had a lot to offer and I ate more than I usually do for that time of day. As the day wore on, more tarot people started arriving – Donnaleigh DeLa Rose, Marcus Katz and Tali Goodwin, Ferol Humphrey, Shari Smith and Val Sherril and many more. The hotel was starting to fill up with us crazy tarot people! And in some cases, this was not an easy feat – the weather was horrible with tornados and storms up and down the East Coast!
In the evening, the Amberstones led an information soaked class titled “The 40 Faces of Love”. We discussed the Minor Arcana and how we could interpret them for love situations. There was a lot to digest as Wald introduced Kabbalah techniques into the class. My brain was spinning! At some point we paired up and did readings using the techniques. I had a fantastic and helpful reading from Devin (pictured below to the left). Being an intuitive reader, I had to retrain my brain to bring the information into my reading for Devin.
After class, I headed out to the local Dominican restaurant for dinner and then joined friends for a drink. So far, it’s been eventful and fun – can’t wait for today’s class with Corrine Kenner. And later tonight, I’ll be leading my study group, “Social Media For Tarot Readers”. I am crossing my fingers that my nerves don’t take over! Wish me luck, friends.
More later,
Theresa
