Pens and Cards: A Tarot Inspired Writing Workshop with Sarah Selecky and Theresa Reed

October 13, 2018
Skybarn, Prince Edward County, Ontario

A day-long exploration of tarot and writing with Theresa Reed and Sarah Selecky.

Do you love to write but sometimes struggle to find the right words?

Have you ever experienced a creative block?

Looking for new, inspiring ways to keep your storylines flowing and develop better characters?

Tarot may be your new muse.

Here’s why: each card is like a little story in itself. The images contain life themes such as love, conflict, loss, and redemption. These 78 cards can be used as a creative prompt for storylines and character development.

Imagine this:

A full day to explore tarot as a writing tool.

Two world-class instructors, leading you through a series of exercises that will ignite your creativity. These exercises are practical – and can be used again and again in all of your creative writing projects!

Gentle writing guidance to help you develop your work.

Sounds pretty groovy, right?

It is.

If you’re a writer who loves to dabble in mystery, archetypes, symbols, and image systems, you’ll want to come to this cool workshop:

Join me, Sarah Selecky and Theresa Reed, The Tarot Lady, for Pens and Cards, a writing and tarot intensive.

A full day of tarot-inspired creative wordsmithing.

How this day rolls:

We’ll start out with a short meditation, intention setting, and writing practice.

From there, we’ll discuss tarot as a writing tool.

You’ll learn some clever tarot exercises that you’ll want to use again and again. From plot lines to character development, these prompts will tap into your subconscious mind and you’ll access “hidden” or “blocked” images, words and scenes.

There will be time to write and share your work with your classmates.

At the same time, you’ll be getting one-on-one expert guidance from Theresa and me. We’ll help you dig into your imagination and find new ways to look at your work…and tarot.

When the class is finished, you’ll have a fresh piece of writing with new characters fleshed out. Awesome!

You’ll also receive a signed copy of Sarah’s novel, Radiant Shimmering Light, and a signed copy of my Tarot Coloring Book, a delightful romp through the cards for folks who want to learn tarot in a creative – and fun – way.

Plus you’ll make new friends. Oh – and there will be a delicious plant-based lunch, too. Because creativity needs fuel.

If this makes your heart skip a happy beat, get a spot before they are all booked – we have room for 12 souls in this workshop.
