Sunday morning I woke up bright and early after a great night’s sleep.  Although it was a lighter schedule ahead, I knew today would still feel like a long day.

I strolled down to the breakfast roundtable hosted by Marcia McCord expecting more knowledge over load but she had other ideas for our time: tarot bingo!  The crowd had so much fun playing along – and the grand prize was a copy of her upcoming tarot deck.  Things got jokingly competitive at our table as Julie Theroux, Donnaleigh and I were neck and neck.  Alas, none of us won!  This silly game broke up the energy in a delightful way and then we were off for more tarot goodness!

We headed into the main ballroom to revisit our foundation readings and see what we learned from the new techniques.  Mike and I were pleased with the additional depth we discovered in our readings.  It’s fascinating to see how effective the Reader’s Studio really is for developing your skills.  I walked away from my reading feeling inspired (thank you, Mike, for being such a great partner!).

The practice session was followed by “Tarot Incubators”, a new RS concept dreamed up by Nancy Antenucci.  The incubators were a series of mini roundtables based on different topics of interest: how to publish your book, starting a meet up group, and more.  I was honored to be leading a group on “how to take your tarot business to the next level”.  We had a dynamic exchange – questions were asked and answered, ideas were presented and the brainstorming was electric!  I loved sharing and receiving knowledge (and if you know me well, you know that next to tarot there is nothing I enjoy discussing more than business – for me, this was my idea of heaven!).

We broke for lunch and then had a little time to decompress.  After reconvening to the ballroom, we were treated to a sneak preview of “Tarology”, the new documentary about tarot poet (and genius), Enrique Enriquez.  If you are a tarot fan, you MUST see this movie.  It is beautifully filmed and Enrique is fascinating to watch.  I can’t wait to get my copy when I return home.

Wald and Ruth Ann took the stage afterwards to announce the exciting news for RS13 – a FULL day on Thursday focusing on “tarot and psychology”, plus next years presenters: Major Tom Schick, Ferol Humphrey and the amazing Nancy Antenucci.  The Amberstones have more tarot tricks up their sleeves – so this is not the end to what they will be offering next year and into the future.  I won’t reveal more except to say that if you love tarot, you NEED to get to RS13!

We finished off with the certification and closing ceremony and then bid farewells.  Many of the attendees were either already headed home or leaving soon after.  A few of us stragglers gathered for a last supper and then a nightcap in the bar.

These last few days were a lot to take in and I’m still processing it all.  I’ll be sharing my last thoughts tomorrow.  All I can say for now as I sit at the airport is this: WOW.

Blessings,

Theresa
