Talkin’ Tarot With is a monthly feature designed to introduce my readers to different tarot readers from our wonderfully diverse community!  Each month, I’ll be asking various tarot readers 3 questions about their tarot philosophy and style, plus pointing you to their websites and blogs so that you can learn more about them!  I like to hand pick tarot readers that I feel are talented and interesting.

Ethony Tarot

I love thinking of the future.  In fact,  I’m already making plans for next year. And one of the things I’m most excited about: meeting Ethony in person and giving her a hug at the Reader’s Studio.  We’ve been online friends and I’ve been an admirer of all the hard work she’s been doing.  So, of course, meeting her is going to be a highlight for my 2016 agenda.  (PS tarot conferences are a groovy way to get face time with fellow tarot pros and fans.)

If you are a tarot lover, you’ll want to get yourself over to her online hub – fast. This magical, informative place has something for every single seeker – whether you are looking for a competent and compassionate tarot reading or want to learn how to read the cards yourself. Ethony truly has something for everyone.

Glance around her site and you’ll find detailed reviews of the latest decks, a full page of useful spreads, the Prince Lenormand oracle, a Money Manifestation deck, tarot readings (both email or live), and her new program: The Tarot Academy – a place to grow your skills, no matter what level you are at.  The best part? Even though Ethony has all this stuff going on, she is present. Which means you are getting loving tarot support from a real, caring person.  It doesn’t matter what service you are getting – you’re in good hands.

The more I get to to know her, the more I view Ethony to be a great source of tarot knowledge –  and a warm spirit.  I think you’ll feel the same. (Next year can’t get here fast enough!)

And here are her wise answers to my questions:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Q:  What is your philosophy about tarot reading?
Ethony:  I believe that Tarot readings can be healing as well as  a tool for the constant process of self discovery. They allow the Reader and Client to connect, contemplate, reflect and plan for the future. We often don’t allow ourselves the time and space for these important things.
One of the great abilities of the Tarot and getting a Tarot reading is that it allows the Client to get out of their own way. The cards don’t lie and when we sit across from the reflection of ourself, our desires, our dreams and shadows we start or continue the process of creating a life we really want. It is through this access to our higher self that we become more aware and conscious.
Q: How do you feel a client might get the most out of a reading with you?
Ethony: Be open and present. Be okay with the fact that I don’t pull any punches when it comes to the messages I deliver and that I can be a little on the playful side at times. That is not to say I am mean with my playfulness , only that I have learnt good bedside manner. A Tarot reading with me is an exchange and a collaboration.
A really great tip that my Tarot Mentor taught us and that I use to this day is when people book a Tarot reading with me I suggest that they write a list of questions they would like answered during our session. This ensures that you don’t remember 20 minutes after the reading is over that important question you really wanted answered.
Q: What is your best piece of advice for an aspiring tarot reader?
Ethony: Be comfortable with who you are and what kind of Tarot reader you want to be. There is room for all of us. We all have different ways of connecting with our Clients and to the Tarot.
Read a lot and never stop learning. Read for a lot of people. Even get a few Tarot Readings from people in the community that you respect. You will then have a first hand understanding of just how different we all are.
Most importantly, enjoy and love what you do. It is a gift and honour when a Client wants to spend their time, money and share their energy with you for a reading. Always be present and always be in a space of openness and gratitude.
