Talkin’ Tarot With is a monthly feature designed to introduce my readers to different tarot readers from our wonderfully diverse community!  Each month, I’ll be asking various tarot readers three questions about their tarot philosophy and style, plus pointing you to their websites and blogs so that you can learn more about them!  I like to hand pick tarot readers that I feel are talented and interesting.

Talkin' Tarot with Madame Pamita

It sounds like the beginning of a joke – or a Thelma and Louise story: I was sitting in a bar and in walks Madame Pamita. Actually, I was hanging out with the one and only Pleasant Gehman that evening. We were celebrating her birthday when Madame Pamita arrived to join the party. I knew who she was immediately because I follow her online. Also, I’m a huge fangirl of her book, Madame Pamita’s Magical Tarot: Using the Cards to Make Your Dreams Come True.

We ended up sitting next to each other the rest of the night, gabbing about tarot, books, and other things. Instant friends! Since that fateful night, she’s been on my podcast talking about tarot spells and today here she is on my blog. You guys: I seriously adore this woman. She’s smart as hell, funny, and a talented tarot reader. Plus: any friend of Pleasant Gehmen is automatically a friend of mine. I’m so happy that we ran into each other and I look forward to kicking back with her in the future.

According to Madame Pamita, she’s up to new things: “I am in the process of writing a new book on candle magic, touring to various locations around the country to teach and do readings (you can see my schedule here: https://www.parlourofwonders.com/author), and recording an audiobook version of “Madame Pamita’s Magical Tarot” which will be available on Audible.”

If you’re in the Los Angeles area, defo look her up. And don’t forget to grab her book!

Q: What is your philosophy about tarot reading?

Madame Pamita:  Tarot is the spiritual version of Waze or Google Maps. It helps us navigate our lives in the most efficient way to get to our goals and destinations with the minimum of traffic jams and accidents. Just like a driving app, we always have the free will to take a different route than the one recommended (or to be avoided) but I find that it’s helpful to know that if you take a detour or stick to the route you know what you’ll get.

I am both very practical in my readings and also very spiritual. Depending on the client’s concerns or question, the advice coming through could be very down-to-earth or delve into some deep esoteric wisdom. I see tarot being immensely helpful in bringing people to their highest good, to attain the things that their souls truly crave, to bring them to a higher consciousness and a “bird’s eye view” (really a “Spirit’s eye view”) of their lives. The Universe wants us to be happy, and between tarot, teaching and magical work, my mission is to help my clients see the path to get there.

Q: How do you feel a client might get the most out of a reading with you?

Madame Pamita:  I set strong magical intentions that the clients who need me will find me. As a result, I have amazing clients who benefit greatly from our sessions. They come with open minds, open hearts, a loving intention and a desire for improvement in their lives. More experienced clients come with specific questions, a desire to find solutions and an openness to seeing what Spirit has to show them. I am very solutions-oriented in my approach and so clients who are also looking for that road map to reach goals, and are willing to take action on the information that they receive have amazing results from our sessions.

Q: What is your best piece of advice for an aspiring Tarot reader?

Madame Pamita: Practice reading for other people! I teach tarot and I have brought people from knowing nothing about the tarot to being professional readers! And I think the secret sauce is that in my classes the students practice with one another – I create a safe space for trying out their intuitive skills and they have fun doing it! Once they get over that fear of reading for someone else, it’s like a beautiful world opens up for them. They gain confidence and they’re unstoppable!

So, if you are wanting to REALLY learn to be a reader, take the leap of reading for someone you don’t know. The online world offers so many options for practice, so take the leap and do a reading for someone you know nothing about. You will be surprised at how good you are!

I also think just spending time with the cards is profoundly powerful. I love your coloring book, Theresa, because the implications of coloring each card can’t be overstated. Just spending time coloring in the details of the cards will intuitively reveal so much to someone who wants to deepen their connection to the symbols, images and stories in each of the cards. When you have that relationship, when you go to do a reading, you’ll get a huge download of important information effortlessly.
