The elements play an important role in the Tarot. Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit – each one holds clues to the cards. For example, the suit of Pentacles is ruled by the Earth element, which signifies the material world. Pentacles are therefore our foundation, the things that make us feel secure.
