Bite-sized lessons for Tarot beginners
Created by Theresa Reed, The Tarot Lady
Welcome to Tarot Bytes – the tarot podcast for people who want to learn tarot…but don’t have all day. Short, bite-sized tarot lessons.
Episode 187: Yearly Cards with Mary Greer
In a previous episode of Tarot Bytes, Mary Greer talked about “birth cards,” a numerology technique where you add up your birth date and connect the final number to a tarot card. This can tell you a lot about yourself and your destiny. Mary joins me again to explore “yearly cards,” which connects each year to a Major Arcana. We discuss personal year cards as well as yearly cards for the collective.
Mary K. Greer is an independent scholar, writer, teacher, and professional tarot consultant, known for her innovative teaching techniques. With an M.A. in English Literature, she taught Tarot in colleges for fifteen years. She is the author of eleven books on tarot and on magic and was the first to write about reading tarot for oneself. She pioneered what she called the RITE method: “Readings that are Interactive, Transformational and Empowering.”
Featured at most Tarot conferences in the U.S. and abroad, Mary travels the world teaching Tarot. In 2007, Mary received the International Tarot Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Tarot Studies and is a research partner in Le Tarot Associazione Culturale (Italy). She also received the 2006 Mercury Award from the Mary Redman Foundation for “excellence in communication in the metaphysical field,” and the 2006 Coalition of Visionary Resources (COVR) Award for best divination book.
Her books include Tarot for Your Self: A Workbook for Personal Transformation, 21 Ways to Read a Tarot Card, Who Are You in the Tarot? and Women of the Golden Dawn: Rebels and Priestesses. She has a Tarot blog at http://marykgreer.com.
