2027 is coming in hot, which means it’s time for my annual Ultra-Deluxe Superfly Astrology Guide! Yay!
So what’s this about? Glad you asked.
Dates to watch out for.
Mercury retrograde three times in water signs – back to air!
Mars retrograde – uh oh! Rageaholics, you’re warned!
Five eclipses – yowza!
Jupiter taking a turn in Virgo.
Horoscopes and tarot cards (oh my!)!
2027 feels like a clean-up patrol with a side of ego-check.
Okay then – let’s do this year!
As you all know, I’m a self-confessed control freak. The only surprises I like are chocolate cake and glittery earrings. Other than that, I want to know what’s up to plan accordingly. Every year, I map out all the big astrological happenings well before the year kicks off. This helps me move through my year with as little drama as possible.
I’ve created this yearly mini-Astro Guide to give you the high fives and red flags you need to know so that you can be alert to when you need to amp up your awesome or kick back and wait it out.
How to use this astrology guide for 2027
Remember, the planetary action shows tendencies and potentials for opportunity… or problems. Awareness of what’s going on in the stars will give you an astro-edge because when you know what’s up, you can strategize how to work that energy to your advantage (even if the stars are grumpy!). Mark the dates of caution and action down in your calendar. Read your yearly scope + special tarot card wisdom to see the bigger picture for your sign. (You may also want to read the forecast for your rising sign.) Then, make 2026 your BFF. Bada bing!
Need more help? I have a list of trusted astrologers at the end of this post who will be more than happy to give you a full-on personalized forecast (a personal report will give you major details so that you can be well-armed).
Read on, astro-playas:
Mercury retrograde 2027
Mercury will be retrograde three times this year.
Mercury will begin in Water signs, but move back into Air signs. That means there are conflicts between the head and the heart during each retrograde. It’s best not to make decisions during these periods. Instead, reflect on what the heart wants – and what makes sense. By the time each retrograde ends, you’ll know which way to go.
Also, keep in mind the usual advice: when Mercury goes retrograde, back up your computer, avoid signing contracts, do not buy new tech gear or vehicles, allow for extra time in all of your affairs (especially travel), and slow down as much as possible.
Check out my detailed post for more information: How To Have A Happy and Productive Mercury Retrograde.
Mercury Retrograde dates:
February 9 – March 3: begins in Pisces, ends in Aquarius
June 10 – July 4: begins in Cancer, ends in Gemini
October 7 – 28: begins in Scorpio, ends in Libra
Mars retrograde 2027
Mars stations retrograde on January 10th. This feels like putting on the brakes after a high-speed chase. No matter how fast you want to move ahead, it’s time to slow your roll.
The madcap journey begins in persnickety Virgo, raising the possibility of prickly tempers, overly critical mindsets, and petty grievances. You can easily get lost in every detail, derailing progress and stalling work projects. Worse yet, this transit tends to lead to pointless bickering. Ugh. Mars steps back into Leo on February 21st – upping the ante for dramatic outbursts and creative blocks.
General Mars retrograde advice: watch your anger, review your relationship to aggression, avoid starting new businesses, do NOT pick a fight. It’s also wise to put elective surgery on hold if at all possible.
Mars will be retrograde until April 1st. No foolin’!
2027 Eclipses
Eclipses are worth mentioning because they can signal major changes. You’ll need to check your chart to see where these changes might take place (you can get a free copy at alabe.com).
2027 brings a rare fifth eclipse on July 18th in Capricorn. It’s barely a ripple, but close enough to the Nodes to be counted. That means this year might bring more shake-ups than anticipated. Keep an eye on structures, foundations, businesses, and governments around that date. Something could wobble.
Most of the eclipses fall on the Aquarius/Leo axis, which brings up changes in power – do we submit to one ruler or does the collective get a say? One lone eclipse lands in Virgo on February 20th, which functions as a palate cleanser for last year’s messy astrology. Might there be a clean slate and opportunity to rebuild? Time will tell.
Eclipse dates for 2027:
New Moon Solar Eclipse 17° Aquarius – February 6
Full Moon Lunar Eclipse 2º Virgo – February 20
Full Moon Lunar Eclipse 25º Capricorn – July 18
New Moon Solar Eclipse 9º Leo – August 2

New Moons/Full Moons
Moon cycles are GREAT for planning.
New Moons are perfect for starting something new, whether a relationship, a job, a diet, writing that novel you’ve been talking about, or even a whole new chapter of your life! New Moon Astrology by Jan Spiller can teach you how to set intentions that work for every New Moon. I swear by that book!
Full Moons are about letting go. Cut out that toxic lover, quit that draining job, give up your three-pack-a-day cigarette habit, and release anything old, outworn, or annoying (that crappy old sweater taking up space in your closet – begone!).

Other noteworthy astro-dates
Uranus sextile Neptune
January 15 and June 6 – Change IS possible. That’s what this aspect is all about. No matter how things look now, we can dream of a revolution – and put it into action. The key: don’t just sit there – do something! These are two points where visions of a better way can ignite real change.
Jupiter trine Saturn
April 3 and June 11 – Big ideas get a kick of discipline. What do you want to build? Plot out your vision, and let’s do it!
Uranus trine Pluto
June 15 – The energy is potent around this rare aspect. The collective demands transformation – and may be ready to do something about it. Rebellious? Yes. But power belongs to the people – and now we’re ready to do something about it. Advances in communication, technology, transportation, and media become possible (regulations, too).
Neptune sextile Pluto
June 28 and October 16 – Could a healing be taking place? Might this spark a creative revolution (or renaissance)? These two slow movers are shifting all the gears in art, consciousness, and on the world stage. The foundation cracks, old ways falter, and a new dream rises.
Jupiter square Uranus
September 10 – This challenging aspect could bring unpredictable changes on an epic scale. Anxiety and fretting over details with a side of unwanted disruptions mean one thing: chaos. Thankfully, the energy passes quickly.
Outer planets
The other planets are stable this year. Yay! (Psst…this means some of the info from last year remains the same.)
Jupiter
Jupiter is in Leo as the year begins. During this transit, which lasts until July 26, 2027, you can express yourself in bold ways. No holding back! Instead, you can be loud, proud, and totally YOU. Jupiter expands, and in big-hearted Leo, there is no better time to lead with your heart. Whether you’re connecting with your loved ones or the public, let your generous spirit come out to play. This transit is awesome for creativity, children, leisure, theater, performing arts, and red-hot romance. Watch out for ego – it can get overblown now. While this transit favors tooting your horn, it’s important to share the spotlight with others.
Jupiter in Virgo on July 26th, 2027 – After a year of big ideas and visibility, Jupiter is ready to get down to business. During this transit, attention to details matter. That means handling all the little stuff that makes the bigger picture work. Jupiter isn’t a fan of being in such a meticulous sign, but it appreciates the effort. In fact, if you use this time to edit every aspect of your world, you’ll be ready to soar next year. Virgo is also associated with health and daily routines. If you overdid it in Leo, you can get back on track.
Jupiter will be retrograde from December 12th, 2026 – April 12, 2027. The best advice during that period: go back to school, study something new, finally complete a degree, or take a trip that you put off far too long. This is NOT a good time for gambling. You can lose your shirt if you are too impulsive with your money.
Saturn
Saturn in Aries – Aries is associated with individuality, identity, courage, and authenticity. Strict Saturn won’t accept excuses. This transit favors personal responsibility. Instead of bitching about what happened in the past, this is time to be here, right now. Who are you becoming? Rather than letting the past define you, this transit challenges you to take command of your life. Saturn in Aries is also the perfect time to let go of selfishness, anger, and a need to be first. Instead, find ways to compromise and put others first. On the world stage, courageous leadership is needed. Those who lead through fear may find pushback. New beginnings are possible as the old way is rejected in favor of a new way where everyone is free to be themselves.
Saturn will be retrograde from August 9th – December 23rd. Use this retrograde to review boundaries, structures, and personal responsibility.
Uranus
Uranus in Gemini – This transit can bring revolutionary advances in all things Gemini: technology, communication, travel, education, and neighborhoods. Ideas, literature, and daily living are also on the front burner. Expect far-out to be the norm and the norm to be far-out.
Uranus will be retrograde from September 10, 2026, to February 8, 2027 and from September 15th, 2027 – February 12th, 2028. Review your relationship with technology, change, communication, ideas, and education. Are you moving toward the future or clinging to the old?
Neptune
Neptune in Aries – The last time Neptune was in Aries was from 1861 – 1875, so it’s been a minute. This transit is associated with individualism. That idea that we can make it if we work hard enough ala The American Dream. However, life is different from it was back then – so the American Dream may undergo a reality check. It might be time to honor the collective and pull each other up rather than pulling oneself up by the bootstraps. Together, the dream is possible. Alone, it’s less a dream and more like a delusional fairy tale. (Psst… no one makes it without help. We need each other.)
Neptune is retrograde from July 9th – December 15th, a period that brings clarity – and a dose of reality. Instead of dreaming, this retrograde demands facing facts. It’s a dynamite time for spiritual retreats. Time spent in meditation, prayer, or nature will keep you grounded.
Pluto
Pluto in Aquarius. This marks a time when technology, art, and science undergo significant transformation. Change is coming on a broader scale as well, for Aquarius favors the collective. The wheels of social justice are ready to turn, and progress is on the way (although a few crusty old types may try to cling to the old ways!). We can begin to build an equitable future at last. Whatever was dismantled during Pluto in Capricorn is going to be rebuilt for modern times. Fun fact: Pluto was in Aquarius during the American and French Revolutions. Expect to see a new society emerging as the world becomes more “global.” We’re in this together. Time to act like ya know!
Pluto will be retrograde from May 8th – October 17th. This retrograde is perfect for examining your own outdated beliefs and thought patterns. Where do you need to evolve? Where are you stuck in the old? Clear that energy and empower yourself by creating new thought forms that support the way you want to show up in the new world that is developing right underneath your nose.

Mini 2027 Personal Horoscopes + Tarotscopes
Short. Simple. Focused on Jupiter and Saturn – where you grow and where you work. Plus the eclipses. Keeping it real and uncomplicated since for-ever.
Aries: Romance burns bright for the first half of 2027, thanks to Jupiter’s transit through your 5th house, dear Aries. It’s also an incredibly creative period, whether you’re making art or growing your family. Looking for new love? The Solar Eclipse on August 2nd could bring a sweet surprise. Your work life expands when Jupiter switches signs on July 26th. This means more responsibilities and a bigger role. With Saturn in your sign all year, you’re more than capable of taking on bigger assignments. Your social life could go through a huge shift this year – eclipses in your friend zone on February 6th and August 17th leave you with a new pack. Out with the old – and in with a fresh crew! Pay attention to the eclipse on July 18th – a sudden, perhaps shocking, career change could force you to examine other options.
The High Priestess – Your hunches will prove to be accurate this year. No matter how crazy your intuitive downloads may seem, trust them!
Taurus: Home is your happy place, dear Taurus. Jupiter in Leo expands your living situation, whether that’s a bigger crib – or growing family. A significant change in your home life could happen around the August 2nd eclipse. A sudden move or new family member will shake things up in a good way. Once Jupiter lands in your true love zone on July 26th, romance takes up more of your attention. Single Bulls could find plenty of admirers, while partnered Tauruses might be ready for the next level: engagement, marriage, or children. Meanwhile, you’re also continuing to better yourself behind the scenes. Saturn in Aries helps you shed the old you and develop confidence. This pays off in your career: the eclipses on February 6th and August 17th find you in the lead role – and spotlight. Take a bow – you’ve earned every accolade. Psst…the eclipse on July 18th is lovely for a long-distance odyssey. Where to?
The Hermit – This year brings a new level of maturity. You know what you’re doing. Act like you know!
Gemini: Jupiter in your 3rd house indicates a mind-expanding year, dear Gemini. Travels, books, and classes help broaden your horizons in exciting new ways. But mid-year, Jupiter enters your domestic sector, which means a bigger home, family – or move across the pond! The eclipses on February 6th and August 17th are ideal for long-distance journeys, while the Solar Eclipse on August 2nd prefers a last-minute road trip. No matter where you go, Saturn in your social sector means your friends are ride-or-die, ready to help you if you need help. Keep in mind, Uranus remains in your sign – if you want to make radical changes, consider that your permission slip. (PS Watch your money on July 18th – the eclipse could deliver a not-so-happy surprise. URGH.)
Seven of Pentacles – Patience is necessary this year. Everything is growing – but you won’t see the results right away.
Cancer: Finances continue to improve as 2027 begins, dear Cancer. Jupiter in your 2nd house favors an increased income, so expect more money to come your way. Best days to attract that cheddar: the eclipses on February 6th, August 2nd, and August 17th. However, eclipses tend to be unpredictable – the money could come from unexpected sources or disappear as fast as it comes in. A budget will be necessary. On July 26th, Jupiter enters your third house, a transit that delivers spontaneous trips, lots of announcements, and opportunities to learn. Saturn remains in your career zone, a fortunate transit that helps you achieve big things (slowly but surely). Overall, 2027 is looking good! (Psst…big-time clarity around a relationship is yours on the July 18th eclipse. Do what you want with that info.)
The Magician reversed – The power to make changes rests with you this year. Handle it wisely.
Leo: Jupiter is in your sign as the year commences, dear Leo. While this can bring a share of the world’s goodies and some fabulous attention, it can also lead to weight gain – or more of the things you don’t want. For example, if you’ve been dealing with relationship drama, Jupiter in your sign is like the Universe’s way of saying “more please.” Even so, this is still positive overall. By the time Jupiter exits your sign on July 26th, you’ll see significant growth. When it moves into your money sector on that day, your chances of increasing your income improve over the next 13 months. Watch out for a temptation to spend that dough as fast as it comes in – a good savings plan will keep you in the black! The eclipse on February 20th might bring an unexpected expense – guard your money carefully around that day! Saturn’s presence in your 9th house favors going back to school for a degree – or serious travel. If it’s been a minute since you’ve had a far-flung adventure, giddy up! One other thing to be aware of this year is relationships – the eclipses on February 6th, August 2nd, and August 17th could bring significant changes. Whether that means partnerships, break-ups, or flings depends on your situation – and mood. Lastly, if you want to change your habits, an eclipse on July 18th might bring the incentive to finally get on the right track.
Four of Wands – Celebrations, cozy gatherings, friends – you have plenty of reasons to be thankful. Yay!
Virgo: 2027 will change you from the inside out, dear Virgo. Jupiter is sitting pretty in your 12th house for the first half of the year, helping you find faith through spiritual practices, therapy, or alone time. Meanwhile, the eclipses on February 20th and August 2nd clear away old baggage, allowing you to feel lighter than you have in years. Once Jupiter enters your sign on July 26th, you’re ready to step out of your cocoon and spread your wings! You’ll be luckier than usual over the next 13 months, with opportunities to grow like never before. If you are in the market for a new job, the eclipses on February 6th and August 17th are the ones to watch. A change could happen then, putting you in a new position or environment. Single Virgos could meet someone new out of the blue during the July 18th eclipse, while partnered ones might add to their family. Saturn’s roll through your 8th house forces you to budget carefully. Even if your income rises, this transit demands caution. While that may sound like a bummer, don’t despair. If you play your cards right, you could be in excellent shape by next year.
The Devil – Temptations are plentiful. Choose your indulgences wisely
Libra: The first half of the year puts you in a social mood, dear Libra. Jupiter is moving through your 11th house, which keeps you on the go with all sorts of cool events and parties. Your circle of friends might expand – and a cherished goal or two come to pass, too. The best day for a gathering with your posse: the eclipse on August 2nd. That day could also bring a newcomer into your orbit. Pay attention – the friendship could change your life in some significant way. The eclipses on February 6th and August 17th could deliver romantic surprises. A new partner? Sudden breakup? Or perhaps your honey has something special, like a ring? The latter is possible – Saturn in your 7th house can indicate commitment. However, it also brings challenges. If your relationship is going through a rough spot, prepare to do the work. On July 26th, Jupiter flutters into your introspection zone, which is excellent for inner work, meditation, or spiritual retreats. You’ll have a year to go inward – and grow. For Libras interested in moving, the eclipse on July 18th might reveal a sudden opportunity. Move fast – it won’t last!
Five of Cups – A few disappointments are possible. Don’t dwell on that – there are other options.
Scorpio: Your career continues to expand in exciting new directions, dear Scorpio. That’s because Jupiter is transiting your 10th house, a fortunate transit that rewards ambition. Keep in mind, this can also push you into the public eye. While that’s awesome for fame seekers, the spotlight can be harsh. Pay close attention to your rep on the August 2nd eclipse – you could receive attention for good or ill. Guard your public image carefully that day. Saturn in Aries keeps your work life hopping, so there shouldn’t be too much time for frolicking, unfortunately. This transit could also lead to burnout if you don’t make self-care a priority. Thankfully, your social life brings relief from the grind when Jupiter pounces into Virgo on July 26th. The following year will offer more playtime with your besties – and new, interesting acquaintances. You may also achieve some of your biggest goals. The eclipse on February 20th is important – expect changes in your friend group or a major development for a cherished goal. Meanwhile, the eclipses on February 6th and August 17th signal sudden fluctuations in your home life. You may need to make an unexpected move for yourself or a loved one. If you’re unsure about any situation, the eclipse on July 18th is the clarifying moment.
Five of Swords reversed – A frenemy is revealed. Now you know who’s phony – and can ditch them.
Sagittarius: Your ruling planet, Jupiter, is in your travel sector as 2027 kicks off, dear Sagittarius. This means you might have some exciting adventures ahead! Of course, the other possibility is you’re in school and feeding your head. Either way, you have a chance to broaden your horizons! Interesting days to travel are the eclipses on February 6th, August 2nd, and August 17th. Research the best places to view the eclipses and make these groovy lunar delights part of your travel plans. Romantic relationships are in serious mode because Saturn’s still in your 5th house. Is this the one? Do you want to take a break? Should you move in together? Babies? Think it over carefully – and try not to make impulsive decisions. On July 26th, Jupiter moves into the career and status section of your chart, which elevates your visibility for a full year. Opportunities could arise that help you achieve your dream job. Don’t take any of this for granted. By next summer, you might be surprised at how far you’ve come. Two dates to watch carefully: the lunar eclipses on February 20th and July 18th. An unexpected twist could create a career or financial misstep. Don’t take chances with your money or your rep.
Nine of Swords – Your anxiety is off the charts. Elevate your self-care – or ask for help.
Capricorn: 2027 begins with some financial good news, dear Capricorn. Jupiter is transiting your 8th house, which could bring windfalls, tax breaks, or an inheritance. If you’re partnered, it could come from your loved one. This feels like sweet relief, especially if 2026 has been uncertain. Keep in mind, Jupiter can sometimes go hog wild when it transits a money house – practice restraint if you want to secure your fortress. These eclipses could signal unexpected expenses or opportunities: February 6th, August 2nd, and August 17th. Keep a close eye on your circumstances around those days. Do not make decisions then – wait for the dust to settle a few days later. The eclipse on July 18th happens in your sign – this could indicate an identity change – or a desire for a radical new look. Once again, eclipses are not the time to make major decisions. Hold off on that mullet until you’re absolutely sure it fits your goals. On July 26th, Jupiter tours your travel zone for a year. Do you want to see the world? Take a cruise with your boo? Or rent an RV for a cross-country trip? Check your finances first, then book it, Dano! Lastly, your ruler, Saturn, is grounded in your domestic sector, a transit that provides stability on the home front. It can also mean additional responsibilities, such as caring for a loved one or stepping into the main provider role. No matter how this plays out, your stoic nature will help you stay the course – and protect the realm.
Ace of Swords – A major breakthrough arrives. Be ready to clear the air and proceed with courage!
Aquarius: Meanwhile, the eclipses on February 6th and August 17th create opportunities for a glow-up. Ditch the old you – and those ill-fitting duds while you’re at it. An update could boost your attraction factor! Saturn in your 3rd house makes 2027 excellent for serious study, writing, or professional communication. However, it can also lead to negative thinking. Watch out for a tendency to slip into Eeyore-level griping. It’s not your best look! On July 26th, Jupiter whirls into your 8th house of joint resources. The following year could bring fiscal goodies via taxes, royalties, inheritance, or business partnerships. It’s about time! One caveat: this Jupiter transit can sometimes bring litigation over financial matters. For example, you get audited. Keep receipts and err on the side of caution if you want to avoid trouble. Intuition is extra sharp around these two eclipses: February 20th and July 18th. Don’t ignore those red flags or green lights!
King of Cups – You’re more in touch with your heart this year. Let it lead the way!
Pisces: Career opportunities are better in the first half of this year, dear Pisces. Jupiter is prancing through your 6th house, a transit that opens doors galore. Now is a great time to apply for something new. The eclipse on August 2nd could deliver a promising offer, so pay attention to any opportunities that show up around then. 2027 is also excellent for inner work. Breakthroughs are possible on the February 6th and August 17th eclipses. Suddenly, you see the light – and let go of the old. Saturn remains in your money house, forcing you to stick to a budget. Boo! You may not enjoy restrictions, but you’ll be in better shape next year if you practice fiscal responsibility. Relationships thrive when Jupiter struts into your 7th house on July 26th. More love? Yes. Harmony? More, please. Marriage? Why not? If you’re single, get out there and mingle. Your swagger could attract intriguing paramours by the dozen. Great days to party and mingle: the eclipses on February 20th and July 18th. The vibe is unpredictable – and exciting. You never know who’ll show up!
Three of Wands reversed – Some opportunities are not meant to be. Let them go. Another comes soon enough.
