In celebration of International Women’s Day, I’m interviewing some very strong and dynamic women on my site this month.  We’ll be talking about empowerment (and a little tarot and intuitive arts as well).

Nikki Groom

Words can be a powerful medium.  Just ask any copywriter.  A talented wordsmith can find the right words to convey our deepest wants and needs – and when it comes to business, that’s potent stuff.  I’m continuing my series today with a very gifted writer, Nikki Groom.  Nikki has been helping female entrepreneurs bring their best selves forward.  You’re going to love her thoughts on empowerment:

Q: What does it mean to be a powerful woman?

Nikki: Being a powerful woman is having the strength to go after what makes you THRIVE, despite the fact success is messy.  It’s rooting yourself in truth and rolling
with the unexpected. Actively making mistakes and serving others from a place of compassion.

Q: When do you feel most powerful?

Nikki: Here. Now. Doing what I was BORN to do. Writing for extraordinary women who are taking the world by storm (or at least will be, soon).

Q: Tell me about an experience in your life that made you feel empowered.

Nikki: Ditching my well-paid, stable full-time gig so that I could do what I do now. It was one of the hardest decisions of my life — and one of the most
rewarding. I liken it to breaking up with someone you’re not in love with anymore — after a DECADE, no less. Crazy tough, but necessary.

Q:  What inspires you to be on your path?

Nikki:  Watching other women pursue their dreams. It’s hope in hoards. It’s proof that, no matter where we end up, the journey was worth it.

Q: How can tarot or other intuitive arts help women to feel empowered?

Nikki:  Inside, we’re crying out for guidance. The intuitive arts reaffirm to us that we are where we need to be and that we’re headed where we need to go.
They move us closer to our essential selves.

Bio:

A British expat who moved her entire existence over the Atlantic ocean in three small suitcases five short years ago, Nikki Groom has been touted as “THE Copywriting Artist to Watch” as well as a force of nature and a rising superstar. Nikki believes that words should speak to the heart and not just to the head. And that, as Ernest Hemingway famously once said, the first draft of anything is usually shit.
