Welcome to Astrology Bytes, the astrology podcast for people who want to learn astrology… but don’t have all day! Short, bite-sized astrology lessons.

Episode 51: Mutual Reception

Moving right along, it’s time to focus on another planetary strength: mutual reception. Mutual reception occurs when two planets are in each other’s rulership. For example, if the Moon is in Sagittarius and Jupiter is in Cancer, that’s mutual reception. Here’s why: the Moon is ruled by Cancer and Jupiter is ruled by Sagittarius. It’s like they are wearing each other’s clothing. Got that? Two planets in mutual reception strength and assist one another. The planets may also take on a few each other’s characteristics as well.

Mutual reception is especially beneficial if one of the planets is in detriment or in its fall. For example, if your Moon is in Scorpio and your Pluto is in Cancer, that would soften the blow so to speak. In other words, this mutual reception business is a damn good thing.
