Talkin’ Tarot With is a monthly feature designed to introduce my readers to different tarot readers from our wonderfully diverse community!  Each month, I’ll be asking various tarot readers 3 questions about their tarot philosophy and style, plus pointing you to their websites and blogs so that you can learn more about them!  I like to hand pick tarot readers that I feel are talented and interesting.

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you may just recognize Prudence Theriault. Last year, she was featured on my “Women + Power” series.  That month long feature was dedicated to  International Women’s Day and Prudence was one of the strong women who shared her thoughts on what it meant to be empowered.  I loved reading her insights and am happy to have her on my blog again.

I’ve known Prudence for a few years now and I’ve always admired her tarot skills as well as her intelligence.  She’s been a great resource for all things tarot.  And it’s no wonder – this certified Tarot Master/Instructor has been reading professionally since 1995. That’s a lot of tarot to have under your belt!

She’s been a member of the Metaphysical Staff at Canyon Ranch Spa and Resort in Lenox, MA, is a certified hypnotherapist, and has taught “Tarot and Intuitive Skills” at Columbia Greene Community College since 1997.  Prudence also writes a bimonthly column for The Columbia Insider entitled “Dear Prudence”, where she uses Tarot to help the many people who reach out to her for guidance.

When not teaching or writing, this busy lady offers private consultations (in person, phone and Skype), to her many adoring clients from all over the world.  Learn more about Prudence by visiting her site: Prudence Theriault – Certified Tarot Master/Instructor Certified Hypnotherapist.

Q:  What is your philosophy about tarot reading?
Prudence: Tarot is a tool for guidance and insight into your life. I feel a reading can help a person see their issues from a different perspective and perhaps then approach things differently for a better outcome. I became a reader to help others. I didn’t really know that when I started but that’s the way things have worked out.

Q:  How do you feel a client might get the most out of a reading with you?
Prudence: I just ask that when a client has a reading with me that they are open to receiving the information/messages that the Tarot has for them at the moment of their Tarot session. I mention to all my clients that the information/messages they are about to receive may or may not all make sense at this moment in time but that the information/messages will all fall into place eventually.

Q:  What is your best piece of advice for an aspiring tarot reader?
Prudence: Learn this craft then do one hundred readings.Let me know what you’ve learned after reading number 100. In other words, don’t give up. Some of your readings will be great some of them not so great and some of them you will never get feedback on and you’ll never know. Determination is a major key.
