The Hit List - Decisions decisionsOh, I know I needed to do it for a long time.

Yet I sat on that decision for two years. My friends and husband listened to my constant groaning. They knew what I should do. I suspect they were getting sick of listening to my gripe fest and began to tune me out. “Here she comes again bitching about the thing that I JUST advised her on…ugh.”

While I don’t have proof that they were actually thinking that, I can only assume since I know how sick of myself I was getting.

I wrestled, churned, squirmed, and fretted. I looked at the numbers and meditated. Deep inside, I knew what had to be done. But there was one thing getting in the way:

Fear.

The fear of making the wrong decision had me stuck in analysis paralysis far longer than I should have. I blamed my Libra rising (astro-excuses always come in handy) but the truth is that my astrology chart had nothing to do with it.

It was just fear.

Fear has a way of holding us stuck in place, even when that place isn’t a good one to be in. Staying in a relationship longer than we should, hanging on to work that makes us ill, staying put when we know that there is a better way.

On the other side of fear is liberation.

That liberation can only be accessed when we take a brave first step. This week, I took two big steps. It wasn’t easy but I’m already feeling free. And relieved.

Because that’s the beauty of finally taking aim, pulling back the bow, and shooting: even if you don’t hit the target, the release feels good.

Today, look at where you’re feeling trapped or unhappy. Take a deep, loving breath. Then LEAP even if you can’t see what’s below or where this decision will lead. Trust that you’ve got this.

Because you do.

My darling husband is the one person I trust the most when it comes to making decisions. He highly approves of this message.
