the hit list directing saturn

This week, Saturn turned direct.  If you’re not an astrology buff, that might not mean much to you. But for those of us who watch the cosmos closely, this is a good, good thing.

Saturn is the planet of lessons and restrictions.  In astrology, this heavy hitter does not play nice and wherever he lands, he tends to stir up a little dust.  He’s kinda like the obnoxious hall monitor who tattles on you when you are trying to skip class. Which means a lot of people kinda hate this guy.

But I’m weird because I happen to dig Saturn. I am a fan of rule makers and nerds.  And, true to my mercurial Gemini nature, I also like to break rules.  Which means I like to see what Saturn is up to – and then get him to play hooky with me.

Saturn is currently hanging around in my 2nd house of finances and making a whole lotta noise with some of my other planets.  Traditional astrologers might say “oh my god, this is a clusterfuck of money woes!  ACK!”  But I’m not traditional.  Rather than duck and cover, I like to lean into that stuff. I enjoy testing that energy out…just because.

I knew Saturn would be arriving in my 2nd house long before he showed up.  The last time he hung around that house, I was struggling financially and making not-so-smart decisions.  He was a bad houseguest but I was a crappy hostess! So I created a welcoming committee just for him so he’d enjoy his stay this time – and not tear down my nest in the process.

Which means I’ve established strong financial structures and goals.  My spending habits have already been checked and rechecked – and altered to create frugality for a spell.  My bookkeeping is hyper-organized.  Every penny is accounted for. I’m sailing through this aspect like an astro-champ.  (I’m on track to paying off my house within the next two – three years!)

But that doesn’t mean that I’m gliding over every speed bump.  Because Saturn likes to hand out tests, I found myself with a larger-than-expected doctor bill (this came on the same day I drew Five Of Pentacles as my card for the day).  Turns out my insurance didn’t cover some tests my hubby needed.  Did I keel over and take that like a wuss?  Nope.  I’m a money sharp shooter and fully aware that Saturn is making me fiscally hard core – so I marched right up to the doctor office and bugged them.  A massive discount later, and Saturn and I are grooving along to TI’s “About The Money”.

And that’s the key to all this planetary shizz.  You’re not doomed, people.  It’s just energy and astrology shows you how that energy operates and where it might be getting cranky.  It’s your job to show up and do your very best with whatever is going on.

Blaming the planets (or /numbers/tarot/someone else) for your problems is like saying you have zero control over what happens in your life.  Life is a series of choices and astrology (and tarot or any divination tool) simply shows what may happen. Think of it like this: when you’re driving down a road and see a speed limit sign, you can work within that guideline – or drive like a maniac and probably get a ticket (or an accident).  That’s how this stuff works. See the signs…make your choice.

Bend that shit to your (free) will.
