The Hit List: Spring sprung

A few days where the temps are above freezing. Warm enough that I can open the windows but cold enough to where I have to close them soon.

Remnants of snow linger but every day, they become smaller and smaller, like little white islands on a giant brownish sea. Bits of litter and dog droppings become visible now that the snowy banks are receding. Pools of water mean careful walking or risk ending up wet to the knees.

No doubt about it.

Spring is on the way.

Although there is not a bud in sight, soon the trees will be bursting with green and grass will turn from mud colored to emerald. I will be able to leave the windows wide open for the cats to gaze at birds and squirrels for hours.

My walks will be more enjoyable because parkas aren’t the greatest for moving about. A lighter coat allows for nimbleness.

And most of all, the aura of hope and fresh starts will once again be present.

I love the blue dot in this picture.
