The Hit List - Wild Weather

There is a statement about Wisconsin that holds true: if you don’t like the weather, just wait – it will change.

The other day was sunny with mild temperatures. After a snowy, cold winter, this felt like a gentle nudge from the gods. Spring is on the way! That means: crocuses, long walks, taco trucks, and cute jackets. Finally, something to look forward to after such a funky year.

But that didn’t last. Temperatures plunged only a day or two later. Then a hailstorm. Yesterday, the wind was so strong that there were garbage cans strewn in the alley. (Mine were safely tucked away.) The forecast for the next few days shows snow, sleet, ice, and plenty of it. Although that could change, too.

This is some wild, wild weather.

But Wisconsinites are hardy. We are built for this nonsense. In fact, the taverns are often filled during a blizzard. And once it hits 50 F? We’re out in our shorts. Not kidding!

Resilience is necessary if you live in a crazy climate…or terrifying times. Right now, the world is more unpredictable than ever. While we might cast astrological charts or look to leaders for answers, sometimes it’s not that easy to forecast what might happen. Instead, we must brace for the worst, remain practical, and try not to lose our heads…or hearts. We must also remember that this, too, shall pass. One day, calm will return.

Until then, stay resilient, my friends. We will get through this together.
