The Hit List - Love Mob - The Tarot Lady

Like most people, I like to read the news. I won’t watch it on television because frankly, even the people I like seem to have a tone that makes me anxious. At least when I read, I can filter out that.

But I can’t filter out the disturbing stuff I’ve been reading about lately. I’m talking about the violence at some recent political rallies. People getting pushed, screamed at, and physically attacked. One unlucky fellow got sucker punched by some random old dude while he was being escorted out for protesting.

Think about that for a minute. Would that old man be brave enough to hit that young man in the face if he was meeting him one-on-one? I highly doubt it.

Because that’s the thing about angry mobs: they are contagious and they give people the balls to do some pretty terrible things.

One man, who was caught on camera pushing a young black woman through the crowd, admitted he was “caught up in the frenzy.”

Mob mentality is a scary, scary thing. Sadly, it’s always been in vogue.

One only has to look at history for proof that people love to get nasty together.

From public hangings to burning witches at the stake to hateful, ignorant people getting mad about someone wanting equal rights – groups of angry people bring out the worst in people.

Which got me thinking: why can’t there be love mobs?

Why can’t love be as contagious as hatred and prejudice? Why does cruelty get all the play?

I would love to see the day when the news focuses more on love and kindness – and does so because it’s the norm.

The alternative is downright ugly and we need to get off that path. Now.

Let’s start a love mob. One that is inclusive, kind, and happy. Yeah…that.

You in? I’m leading this love-in.

Let love rule.
