Happy Spring Equinox!

Maybe it’s just me but I am feeling that spring time vibe – time to clean! I’d consider myself pretty clean overall but I’m cluttery. Messy as can be. Stacks of books are everywhere.

I have regular routines to stay on top of this stuff but even with that, things can still get a bit disheveled from time to time. An annual purge is essential.

You’ll want to do a spring clean for both your office and digital world because, hey – even if you’re a neatnik, you may find that there are a few areas where you have a bit more clutter than you need.

Let’s start with the office:

Shred: old tax files, receipts, paperwork.

Cull: your business library – what books or magazines are outdated?

Clear: your desk and the floor around you. If you have stacks of books (guilty as charged), put them away.

Throw out: journals, calendars, post-it notes (I have these all over my office with reminders), dried up pens, anything used up or broken.

Clean: wipe down all surfaces. Vacuum up any dustbunnies. Shine the pictures and the windows with a bit of Windex. Clean and sanitize the office bathroom. Tidy up the bookshelves and the knickknacks (for most of us, the crystals!).

Your digital world:

Delete: old files and programs that you never use.

Organize: all of your files. Make sure they are clearly labelled so they are easy to find.

Unsubscribe: to newsletters you no longer read. They are just taking up space in your inbox.

Clean: your inbox. Delete all those old emails. Answer the ones that are pending. Take care of any email “fires” that need to be put out. Get down to zero. WHEW.

When you’re done with all these tasks: open the windows to let the air in.

Breathe deeply.

Hello Spring!

Blessings,

Theresa
