Welcome to Tarot Bytes – the tarot podcast for people who want to learn tarot…but don’t have all day. Short, bite-sized tarot lessons.
Episode 82: Cleansing and Blessing Your Tarot Deck with Briana Saussy
One of the most common questions I get from tarot newbies is “do I have to cleanse my deck…and how do I do that?” Like any tool, a tarot deck can get grimy, especially if you allow others to handle your cards. Regular cleansings help to keep the energy clean so the cards can remain sharp.
In this episode of Tarot Bytes, I’m talking with my favorite sacred artist, Briana Saussy, about the best ways to cleanse and consecrate your cards. We’re also discussing what you need to do with a new deck – and how to protect your energy during a tarot reading. Tune in and soak up this good stuff!
Briana Saussy is a writer, teacher, and spiritual counselor, and is part of a growing community of soulful seekers. People who are drawn to Briana’s work want a practical and creative approach to spirituality. They are open to the spiritual riches of the world religions, as well as the contributions of modern psychology to man’s search for meaning; but they feel a need to explore the often overlooked and forgotten regions of folk divination, magic and storytelling practices.
Briana comes from a diverse lineage of South Texas – from Scotch-Irish, Cherokee and Chickasaw, to Mexican and Jewish roots – which has informed her own direct experience with survivals of fragmented folk magic and storytelling traditions. She lives in her hometown of San Antonio, Texas with her husband, two sons, two dogs and three birds. Beyond conversations that make her think, sweet kisses from her beloved, and good times her family, she finds that strong coffee, good dirt, and true words are some of the best things in life.
Grab your favorite deck, put in your earbuds, and dive in!
