The Hit List - Climbing up the mountain

The year started out quietly but soon, I found myself loaded down with a mountain of projects. A few of them are top secret so I won’t divulge a thing but suffice it to say these are not things that can be done quickly or easily.

Although my work habits are quite disciplined, I realized that I needed to shift things around a bit in order to stay on track – and climb up this mountain while avoiding burn out.

Here’s what I did:

I broke all of my normal duties (blogging, podcasting, etc) down into smaller bites and spread them out so that I can work on them bit by bit while still leaving time for my big projects.

I adjusted my calendars and boom – onward.

The progress has been coming along nicely. Even better, I have discovered that I like working this way. Which means: even after these big projects are completed, I will probably keep these new work habits in place.

It’s always good to tweak your habits from time to time, especially when you see that life is changing. Because sticking with what worked before isn’t always wise. Today, take a look at how your habits are working for you…or not. If you see that you’re working harder instead of smarter, look closely at what you can do to revolutionize your world. Then: commit to your new routines and see how that works out.

You might be surprised to see that the mountain before you is way more scalable when you take a different route.
