the hit list life in a seven year

According to numerology, I’ve been in a seven year.

Numerologist Christine DeLorey calls a 7 year: “a year of learning.” It’s also a time to seek truth and pull away from the outer world to focus more on inner stuff.

I’ll be honest…I wasn’t looking forward to a 7 year. The last one I had was pretty awful.  That was the year my mother died and my life turned upside down.  My normally happy-go-lucky personality became brooding and dark.  It was not my best moment.

With that in mind, 2015 brought a bit of anxiety.  Would this year be another big bummer? Would I once again be dealing with emotional hardship and loss? Would I become even more of a hermit/introvert/recluse than I already am and end up lonely?  (Trust me, if we had good delivery here in my hood, I’d never leave my house!)

My fears were unfounded.  In fact, my year was pretty spectacular overall.  I’ve had a lot of amazing moments and big wins.  I wasn’t alone.  I was surrounded by loving people, a strong business team, and a solid group of friends.  So what gives?  Where is all that 7 year lessons ‘n stuff?

Truth is, I was still was pretty internal this year.  I’ve been doing a lot of contemplating behind the scenes.  I’ve been researching. Taking classes. Writing. Journaling.  Meditating.  And I’ve been taking some real time off every weekend. I’ve also been slowly eliminating things that no longer fit the me that I’m becoming.

So all that fear stuff?  Nada.  My perceptions on this 7 year, based on past experiences, were unfounded.  But learning, taking stock of my inner world, and seeking my truth?  Yep.  All right on.

That’s the interesting thing about astrology, numerology, and tarot.  They give you clues, symbols, and signs to look for. But often, we anticipate that those things are going to look different than they do.

Which is why it’s always important to use this work as a guide but to be open for the way it might just show up.  Which may not be the way you think.

And this 7 year showed up in the most sneaky brilliant and wonderful way.  As one of my wisest clients once said to me “I’ll get a reading and then something will happen and I think oh, that’s what the reading meant. And then something else will happen and I realize that is what it really meant.”

As I move into an 8 year at the beginning of 2016, I’m going to make a vow to not anticipate all the goodies (my 8 years always seem to be phenomenally great for biz).

I’m going to be open, aware, and in the moment.

Because that’s precisely what I learned in my 7 year.
