The Hit List - The don't do list

Oh the to-do list!  How I love you so much!  My desk is plastered with sticky-notes, each one filled to the brim with things that need to be done.

And let’s not forget the calendar, open-faced on my desk, scrawled with more lists and various plans that must happen, this week or soon after.  It’s all laid out, each item getting carefully checked off only to have one-more-thing added in that newly vacant spot.

So much gets done and yet there is still more to do. Always more to do.

But what about the stuff that I don’t want to do? The things that are a big fat no, no, NO? What about creating a don’t do list?  What might be on that don’t do list?

This:

I don’t do the phone to “just chat.”

I don’t do work for free.

I don’t do pink anything, ever. (Hello Kitty swag gets a free pass though.)

I don’t work on Sundays.

I don’t and won’t change my menu to suit anyone else. I’m the chef around here.

I don’t do dishes.

I don’t do last minute anything.

I don’t do “exceptions” (nor do I explain myself or my policies).

I don’t do anything that requires groveling.

I don’t do “no pain no gain” anything.

I don’t do debt.  I love being debt free (almost there with the house!).

I don’t and won’t do mean.  Not being mean, not allowing mean.

This is what I don’t do.

Any questions?

What’s on your don’t do list?
