Horoscopes and tarot cards (oh my!).

2020 is coming and I’ve got your astro-back with my Ultra-Deluxe Superfly Astrology Guide for the year ahead.

Confession: I’m a bit of a control freak.  I like to know what’s coming so that I can keep surprises in my life to a minimum (the only kind of surprises I like are the gift certificate for a massage kind).  Knowing what’s up with the cosmos helps me to glide through the year with a minimum of drama and a whole lotta Zen.

I’ve created this mini-Astro Guide to give you the high fives and red flags you need to know so that you can be alert to the times when you need to amp up your awesome or kick back and wait it out.

How to use this astrology guide

Remember, the planetary action shows tendencies and potentials for opportunity… or problems.  Awareness of what’s going on in the stars will give you an astro-edge because when you know what’s up, you can strategize how to work that energy to your advantage (even if the stars are grouchy!).  Mark down the dates of caution and action in your calendar.  Read your yearly scope + special tarot card wisdom to see the bigger picture for your sign.  (You may also want to read the forecast for your rising sign as well.)  Then: make 2020 your BFF.  Bada bing!

Need more help?  I have a list of trusted astrologers at the end of this post who will be more than happy to give you a full-on personalized forecast (a personal report will give you major details so that you can be well-armed).

Read on, astro-playas:

Mercury retrograde

Mercury will be retrograde three times in 2020. This year, they are happening in the Water signs, which means emotions will be running high during these retrogrades. Everyone is touchier and more sensitive, so you’ll want to tread lightly if you want to avoid upsetting anyone’s apple cart. If you’re making decisions around relationships during this retrograde, wait. You may not be objective. Use the retrograde to ponder your feelings. Make decisions after Mercury goes direct. The more rooted you are, the less likely your emotions will get in the way of your rational thinking.

Travel via water or overseas could be problematic during these retrogrades so do plan for delays.

Also, keep in mind the usual advice: when Mercury goes retrograde, communication, travel, and technology can be affected.  But it doesn’t need to be a hawt mess!  Best course of action: back up your computer, give yourself extra time to get where you need to go, think before you speak, avoid signing contracts or buying new technology if you can, and be patient.  (Check out my detailed post for more information: How To Have A Happy and Productive Mercury Retrograde.)

Mercury Retrograde dates:

February 16 – March 9. Begins in Pisces, ends Aquarius.

June 18 – July 12 in Cancer.

October 13 – November 3 in Scorpio, ends in Libra.

Venus retrograde

Venus will be retrograde from May 13 – June 25 in Gemini. For romance, this could signal a time when communication wires get seriously crossed. Instead of Venus Gemin’s usual flirty vibe, mixed signals and changing minds create a fickle vibe. You may find yourself not knowing what you want – or you may have a hard time getting a read on what the other person’s agenda may be. You’ll need to talk it out if you want to tough it out. Also: old flames may show up – probably at the most inconvenient time too.

When Venus is retrograde, spending can run amok. Keep an eye on the ole budget during this transit. Also: avoid plastic surgery if at all possible. That face lift can wait.

This is not a good time to get married or sign legal contracts. In business, clients could be flaky, uncommunicative, or looking for arguments.

Mars retrograde

Mars will be retrograde from September 9 – November 14 in Aries. You will defo want to keep your temper in check during this retrograde. Mars retrograde can bring arguments and in the sign it rules it can burn bridges to a crisp. Keep in mind that whoever decides to pick a fight loses. Watch your aggression and avoid people who are looking for an altercation. Because this will happen at the same time as a Mercury retrograde, you’ll certainly want to stay away from online drama because it can escalate quickly.

Other rules of Mars retrograde: do NOT open a business or launch anything new during this transit. It will most likely fall flat (for the record, I have witnessed this again and again over the years). Also: NO elective surgery.

We will be having the election in the U.S. during Mars retrograde. Which means: it’s gonna be a dogfight all the way to the bitter end.

Eclipses

Eclipses bear mentioning because they can signal major changes afoot.  You’ll need to check your chart to see where these changes might take place (if you don’t have a copy of your chart, you can get one free at alabe.com).

Full Moons are about letting go.  Cut out that toxic lover, quit that draining job, give up your three pack a day cigarette habit, and release anything that is old, outworn, or annoying (that crappy old sweater taking up space in your closet – begone!)

Saturn conjunct Pluto

This aspect only comes around about once every 34 years so listen up! Saturn and Pluto are conjunct on January 12th at 11:59 AM EST in the sign of Capricorn. Saturn is the planet of hard work and limitations, while Pluto favors destruction and regeneration.

In Capricorn, this indicates a time when the traditions and institutions we’ve counted on go through a significant shift. Whether that’s for better will remain to be seen but do know that there may be epic changes happening around issues of power, business, and politics.

The old way is beginning to fall apart, and new leaders are about to take power. Shake-ups in business and government will bring necessary wake-up calls. Ecological and economic issues may be on the forefront as we go into a new election.

So what does that mean for us personally? Transformation time is at hand. If you’re not liking the way your world (or the world) is looking, take responsibility. You can make a change – and a difference. Let this Saturn Pluto conjunction be your nudge to get moving on the work that needs to be done.

Jupiter sextile Neptune

Jupiter sextile Neptune brings an increase in faith and spiritual awareness. People want to believe in something. They are looking for HOPE. Who are the inspiring leaders? Which people are making a positive difference? How might you be of service now? Those who are ready to step up, change the direction, and inspire people to believe again will be the new leaders that we’ve all been waiting for.

When this transit hits, look for ways you can be kinder and more compassionate. Be idealistic and let your humanitarian side shine brightly. Become the change you want to see in the world.

Dates when this transit will be exact:

February 20

July 27

October 12

Jupiter conjunct Pluto

Jupiter conjunct Pluto can be positive for transformation, both on a personal and global level. It can bring about a change in philosophic outlook and a deeper understanding of how we are all connected and in this together. This could be a favorable time to revamp cultural, educational, and religious institutions.

Financial benefits come through corporate business, joint finances, and taxes. On a less happy note, this aspect can also bring about fanatics and those who are looking to reap benefits off the backs others – watch out for exploitation and power mongers who want to hoard all the goodies to the detriment of the collective.

Dates when this transit will be exact:

April 5

June 30

November 12

Jupiter conjunct Saturn in Aquarius December 21st

This aspect brings about a serious attitude with a focus on long-range goals. In the sign of Aquarius, humanitarianism and brotherhood will be the focus for the next twenty years.

Ethics and integrity are highlighted. People want accountability – but they also wish to see that the world is going to be a better place for all. Watch for the younger leaders that emerge. A new, idealistic generation are ready to grab the reins. Tolerance and goodwill bring hope and inspiration. New beginnings in business, education, legal, and professional affairs are possible. Remember: we’re all in this together. All for one and one for all.

Be clear on your ethics – and look for ways you can become a tolerant, more compassionate version of you.

Outer planets

Most of the outer planets will remain in the signs they’ve been in for a while. Remember: the outer planets take longer to move through a sign!  Both Jupiter and Uranus will be making a move this year.

At the beginning of 2020 we have:

Jupiter in Capricorn – Jupiter joins Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn at the end of 2019. This transit can bring about opportunities in business and career. This is the right transit to up-level your ambitions. Climb that company ladder! Seek favors from those in positions of authority. Recognition is possible for those who are willing to take bold chances.

On the global front, this transit can play out two ways. For one, it can be positive for government and building infrastructure. BUT Jupiter can bring excess, and that could mean that governments expand their reach – or people demand that they do more for them. Abuses of power could lead to downfall, especially if someone is using power for personal gain or enrichment.

Jupiter will be retrograde from May 14th – September 13th. The best advice during that period: don’t overdo, overpromise, or overdeliver. Keep your need for power in check.

Saturn in Capricorn – (This information is the same from last year’s Guide except for the retrograde date and the brief mention about Saturn in Aquarius.)This transit began in December 2017. Let me start out by saying: Saturn adores being in Capricorn. That’s because Saturn rules Capricorn. Here, it can express it’s energy the best. Saturn loves structure – and no sign is more structured than Capricorn. This transit favors ambition, building, and power. Which means: if you’re focusing your energy on your career, you’re going to see some big-time growth. Set big goals and then commit to them. UPLEVEL. Go for the gold! Saturn in Capricorn favors the movers and the shakers – be one, and you’ll gather steam in anything you attempt. This transit is not for the lazy or for those looking for a shortcut. Instead, it’s best for those who are dedicated and willing to be patient as they climb. The top is reachable, but not without your full commitment to the work needed to get there.

A quote that best sums up this transit comes straight from Game of Thrones (my favorite show!): ”Chaos isn’t a pit, chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but they refuse. They cling to the realm or the gods, or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.” – Littlefinger

The political stage will be most interesting with Saturn in Capricorn, especially because Pluto is also hanging out in Capricorn. Pluto is all about tearing things down and transformation. Saturn brings the muscle to get the work done. It’s practical like that. This could be a productive time of building new structures that will better support humanity. For example, reforming laws, infrastructure, roads – all of that would be a great thing to focus on during this transit. Also, caring for the most vulnerable would be excellent because Saturn in Capricorn has that paternal vibe to it.

BUT Saturn in Capricorn can also bring out power struggles between those who want to use their power for good – and those who wish to cling to the systems of old that harmed many. One thing is for sure: the old way is dying. How that shakes out will be interesting as these Capricorn transits move forth.

Saturn will dip briefly into Aquarius on March 21st, which could give us all a hint of what’s to come (read the section on Saturn changing signs below). This signals humanitarianism and the collective becoming a bigger focus – just as election season gets roaring!

Saturn will be retrograde from May 11th – September 29th. This is an active period for doing all the behind-the-scenes work. Restructure, review, renew. In politics, I think this will be a karmic period where some dues are bound to get paid. It will slide back into Capricorn on July 1st, which might bring a whole lotta saber-rattling and drama from the old guard as the new one starts to take shape…or gain power. Saturn will be direct again at the end of September, just in time as election season comes to a close. One thing is for sure: this might be the most contentious and dramatic election yet.

Uranus in Taurus – (This is the same information from last year’s Guide other than the retrograde dates.) The planet of revolution in Taurus, the sign that rules money, promises to bring about a financial revolution of sorts. If you’re looking for a steady, calm economy, good luck with that. Instead, this transit brings about major transformation – not just globally but also on a personal level. This promises to be a volatile and unpredictable time, but for those who are conscious, it may be a time to examine how free we really are when it comes to money.

For example, are you doing work solely for the dollar? Are you knee-deep in debt because you’re trying to keep up with the Joneses – or because you’ve made some poor decisions in the past? Are you obsessed with gathering possessions and power – at the expense of others? Uranus in Taurus will make you examine all of this and more. This period will demand that you look at your relationship with money – and evolve it. If you are unwilling to do so, Uranus may throw a few wrenches in the system that may force you to rethink how you’re handling it or making it.

What’s interesting about this transit is that it’s also coinciding with Saturn and Pluto both in conservative Capricorn. I think we’re going to see a massive shift in banking, financial institutions, and government. New money technology and the rise of alternative money such as the bitcoin is possible. Corporations and politicians could face an intense backlash under this transit if they put profits before people. The last time this transit happened was during the ’30s and 40’s – the time of the Second World War and the Great Depression. Remember: astrology shows that history often repeats.

My advice for this transit: handle your money with care. Put some aside for a rainy day. Pay off your debts if possible. If you are conflicted with your relationship with money, consider reading The Art Of Money by Bari Tessler – an excellent book that will help you transform your financial picture. This is the ideal book for this transit.

Uranus is retrograde from August 15th – January 15, 2021. This is an excellent time to reflect on your values as well as where you’re stuck. If you’re too firmly in your comfort zone, why? What might you need to do to break out of that? What changes do you need to make in your life, particularly around money?

Read No bull: a no-nonsense guide to maxing out the Uranus in Taurus transit.

Neptune in Pisces – (This is the same information as last year’s Guide save for the retrograde dates.) – Neptune is the ruling planet of Pisces, so it’s pretty happy here. This period is fantastic for artists, musicians, and mystics. Whether you’re navel-gazing or tuning in and turning out, be sure to keep your feet firmly planted on the ground. This dreamy transit can produce escapism, so watch out for spaciness, drug/alcohol abuse, or other clever ways of avoiding responsibilities and other unpleasant things.

Neptune is retrograde from June 23 – November 29, a perfect time for spiritual retreats, intuition work, and any sort of mystical groove. Watch out for a tendency towards escapism. Stay grounded.

Pluto in Capricorn – (This is the same information as last year’s Guide save for the retrograde dates.) Pluto has been in Capricorn for several years, and it’s got a few more to go. Pluto is the planet of transformation, and Capricorn represents the status quo, the old way. This transit is perfect for revolution – tearing down the old structures to make way for the new. The last time we had this transit was during the American Revolution! Observe politics for the next few years. The times they are a-changing.

Pluto will be retrograde from April 25 through October 4th. This retrograde is perfect for examining your own outdated beliefs and thought patterns. Where do you need to evolve? Where are you stuck in the old? Clear that energy and empower yourself by creating new thought forms that support the way you want to show up in the new world that is developing right underneath your nose.

Saturn changes signs

On December 17th, Saturn will leave conservative Capricorn for freedom-loving Aquarius. This transit favors friendship, humanitarianism, innovation, and justice for all. The years that Saturn travels through Aquarius could find higher tolerance with a focus on climate change, science, and the collective. Idealism is IN. Could this be the Age of Aquarius? Perhaps.

Jupiter changes signs

On December 19th, Jupiter moves into Aquarius. Expansive Jupiter in progressive Aquarius amplifies peace ’n free love. The collective matters. So do friends. Instead of selfishness, there is a desire to improve the world. This can come through greater devotion to humanitarian issues such as the environment or human rights. It can also be right in your own backyard because this is a perfect transit to volunteer. Tolerance is amplified, and folks are ready to put their difference aside to see how we can all just get along. At times, a few radicals may try to spoil the kumbaya, but these types are losing favor for Jupiter in Aquarius, while it can bring out the fanatics, it also looks to the future and prefers a future where everyone can coexist.

Jupiter conjunct Saturn

Jupiter will be conjunct Saturn on December 21st at 1:21 PM. This is significant because this transit only arrives once every twenty years. It’s believed to set the tone for the next twenty. The last time they joined forces was in Taurus, which rules money, banking, and the earth. In Aquarius, we will see a focus on humanitarianism, science, brotherhood, and innovation. Progress marches on, and those who are clinging to the old way may just be left behind.

gemini astrology

Gemini: Get your mind on your money and your money on your mind this year, dear Gemini. Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto are hanging tough in your 8th house, which means you cannot ignore the ole budget this year. Instead, you must get hyper-disciplined with your cash if you want to see improvements. It IS possible to make more money, but if you don’t handle your business, it can disappear like a magician’s rabbit. So knuckle down, organize your money, pay your taxes, and be a grown-up about it. Those days could bring a shocking realization that forces you to straighten up and fly right! Saturn will take a short hiatus in your 9th house from March 21st – July 1st, an ideal spot for exploring higher education. If you’ve always wanted a degree, this might be the time to apply to a university. This is also a sweet spot for writers (most Geminis have that skill innately). Start that novel, reach out to a publisher, self-publish your memoir – any or all of that. On July 1st, Saturn heads right back to the 8th house to make sure you’ve been taking care of money business. The eclipses on June 5th, November 30th, and December 14th bring major shifts to relationships. These eclipses could shake up important relationships – and be your cue to up-level your boundaries. The eclipse on July 4th clears up a financial situation or brings the end to debt. December puts Jupiter and Saturn smack dab into your 9th house. They’ll also be conjunct on the 21st. What does this mean? More travel. Going back to school. Or finally publishing that book. All the things that you love! Yay!

Four of Cups – If you’re bored with the way things look, why not look at things in a different way? You have plenty to keep you occupied. Change your outlook and you’ll see the possibilities for excitement.

cancer astrology

Cancer: This year brings so many changes, dear Cancer. Take a deep breath and trust your gut because it will guide you brilliantly. Relationships are under the spotlight for most of the year. Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto are transiting your 7th house, making the “we” factor a major focus. You’ll have lots of opportunities to merge deeper, but you may also have to work harder too. If a relationship is toxic or codependent, you must examine your role. Take an honest assessment of how you’re showing up – and what you can do to improve. The eclipses on January 10th and June 20th in your sign signal a time when you must speak your truth and stand up for yourself. No more putting everyone else first. You count too! The Saturn Pluto conjunction on January 12th is perfect for making a commitment, clearing the air, or cutting cords. Saturn will dip into your 8th house from March 21st – July 1st, making intimacy a challenge. Get vulnerable. Let your partner know what you need. Do not be shy about expressing your deepest desires. On July 1st, Saturn is back in your relationship zone, and you’re more clear on what you want. As the rest of the year progresses, you can find a healthy balance, make a commitment, or go your own way. The eclipses on June 5th, November 30th, and December 14th put the spotlight on work and health. If you’ve been neglecting either with all this relationship stuff, these days are most excellent for resting, starting new regimes, or taking care of business. It’s also possible you could be taking time off around those days, which could be rejuvenating. Put self-care as a priority around these days, and you’ll remain grounded. The eclipse on July 4th is a game-changer for a relationship. Pay attention to what happens around this day – it may be unpredictable in some way, but one thing is for sure: things will not be the same. December will find Jupiter and Saturn heading into your 8th house, where they will be conjunct on the 21st. 2021 will give you opportunities to make more money and get your cash right once and for all. If you don’t feel secure at the beginning of the year, you’ll have ample time to create lasting security for yourself.

Eight of Pentacles – Whatever you focus on is destined for success. Put your attention to the work that matters and stay on it. Rewards will come.

leo astrology

Leo: 2020 could be intense at work, dear Leo. Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in your 6th house indicate more responsibility but also: opportunities to up your game. The key here is to be bold and ready to lead. You’re the courageous sort so this should come naturally to you. But if you’re one of the rare gun-shy Leos, consider this your green light to step into a more prominent role like King of the Jungle you are meant to be. The 6th house also rules health, which means discipline will help you to reach your goals brilliantly. Get a check-up at the beginning of the year and see where you need to clean up your act. Then stick to the program and voila – you can heal your body or find a happier balance. Eclipses on January 10th and June 20th land in your 12th house of rest. Circle those days on your calendar for ultra self-care. Schedule in time for chilling, massage, a day off, or a retreat. Also: if you want to explore therapy, those would be stellar days to start. On March 21st – July 1st, Saturn will be spending time in your 7th house, which means it’s time to make a commitment to a relationship. A commitment could mean many things: engagement, marriage, or even a business partnership. It can also be a commitment to working things out in a troubled relationship. On July 1st, Saturn will be moving back into your 6th house, giving you the impetus to complete work projects that need to be done by the end of the year. A series of eclipses on June 5th, November 30th, and December 14th could signals changes in your romantic life or circle of friends. These days could also be splendid for expanding your family as well. The eclipse on July 4th could signal the end of a work project or a job. Don’t fret if something comes to a close that day – it could open the door for something exciting. December puts Jupiter and Saturn squarely in your 7th house. If you’re single, this could be your year to get back out there. You might meet a few suitable suitors. Already partnered? Take things to the next level. You’re ready to share your jungle with another lion. RAWR!

The Fool – You are about to begin a new journey. Your life is opening up in amazing ways. Take a few risks. Let go of the old baggage.

virgo astrology

Virgo: Want to get serious about love? Looking to expand your family? You can do either (or both) this year, dear Virgo. With Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto nestling in your 5th house, 2020 could find you making babies or a real connection with a potential partner. (If you’re not into babies, this could also be a fab year for getting your creativity ON.) Set your romantic, family, or creative goals, and get BUSY. Efforts will pay off! The eclipses on January 10th and June 20th in your 11th house are sweet spots for celebrations with your pals. A friend may reveal something important around that time as well (a secret crush perhaps?). January 12th’s Saturn Pluto conjunction is excellent for artists – it can signal a period of constructive work and discipline around creative ideas. From On March 21st – July 1st, Saturn will be resting up in your 6th house, a reasonable period for hitting the gym or updating your health routines. If you’ve been slacking off on self-care, this small spot could give you the nudge to get back on that. On July 1st, Saturn will be once again in your 5th house, making the next few months ideal for making babies or new romantic connections. You will have to work at it a bit, but that hard labor will pay off. Don’t give up, even if you have not yet reached the goal as of July. The eclipses on June 5th, November 30th, and December 14th bring changes at the homestead and career. If you’re thinking of buying a house, moving, or starting a new job, these days may create the right energy for those activities. July 4th’s eclipse could bring welcome news around love or babies. At the end of the year, Jupiter and Saturn will both be palling around in your 6th house, which means your work life is about to get epic and challenging all at once. The conjunction on the 21st might mean a job change – or a new position. As 2021 looms, you’re ready to bust a move and prove your mettle. As Britney Spears sings: Work, bitch.

Four of Pentacles – Security is possible. Take control of money matters and you will achieve the stability you desire.

libra astrology

Libra: Home is where your heart is this year, dear Libra. Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto are all chilling out in your domestic sector for much of the year, which makes 2020 superb for updating your nest, decluttering, moving, or buying a home. Create your plan for the ideal home at the start of the year – and then get busy. By the time this year ends, your crib could be set up just the way you want. Eclipses on January 10th and June 20th in your 10th house could bring a major change in your career – or street cred. This could be the culmination of all the hard work you’ve done over the years (ex: fame or top dawg position at the firm). However, if you’ve been doing anything shady, a public reveal is also possible. Defo fly right if you want to avoid a downfall. The Saturn Pluto conjunction on January 12th could be the right day to start a home improvement project. But it can also bring a power struggle with a family member. If the latter occurs, know that it could carry on for most of the year. Try to avoid starting a war with a loved one, m’kay? Saturn will move into your 5th house from March 21st – July 1st, a period where you can get serious about romance, babies, or art. Maybe all of the above. You’re a creative, romantic sort so this might be of great interest to you. Get your making on and make love, kids, or masterpieces! On July 1st, Saturn will be moving back to your 4th house, signaling a few months for finishing up any sort of deals or decorating around the home. A series of eclipses on June 5th, November 30th, and December 14th could be lovely for travel. Where do you want to go? Map these days out and make plans to indulge in your wanderlust! The eclipse on July 4th might bring big news around a family member. It’s also a fabulous day for hosting a barbecue in your backyard. Get some sparklers, hotdogs, and invite the fam over to watch the fireworks. December will change the whole game when Jupiter and Saturn join forces in your 5th house. 2021 could bring more love or a bigger family. The 21st is your day to decide which one you want the most. Heck, if you want both that’s possible too but do know you’ll be getting mighty busy in the following year. Nudge nudge wink wink.

The Sun – Happiness and joy are yours for the taking! Look on the bright side. Enjoy every moment this year offers.

scorpio astrology

Scorpio: This year brings opportunities to travel, write, and communicate like never before, dear Scorpio. It’s because Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto are lingering in your 3rd house at the beginning of 2020. These activities will keep you busy – or on the road for much of the year. If you’re trying to write a book, 2020 could be the year where you finally get those words on paper – and make it happen. The eclipses on January 10th and June 20th in your 9th house of travel could bring sudden urges to hit the road – or memorable journeys. If you’re going anywhere around those dates, your horizons will be much broader. A Saturn Pluto conjunction on January 12th is great for putting your travel plans for the year together. It’s also a stellar date for getting to work on your next-big-writing-thing. If you’ve got a novel in you, start today. Make that commitment! Saturn will take up residence in your 4th house from March 21st – July 1st, a period that may find you preferring hermit mode at home base. This could also be a time when you’re working on household projects or taking care of a family member. July 1st will find Saturn moon dancing back into your 3rd house, upping your chances for more travel and publishing. You could be feeling a bit melancholy from time to time as well but do know that this will pass come December. The eclipses on June 5th, November 30th, and December 14th bring important news about money. This could be the end of one source of income and the beginning of a new one. Or you may pay off a debt. It’s also possible that you may be ready to get your finances under control. Whatever the case may be, the chances are ripe for your money situation to improve. (Heads up: if you’re fiscally reckless, these days could also bring unpleasant wake-up calls!) The eclipse on July 4th also brings news in your neighborhood or about a sibling. Pay attention to what you hear around this day because it could affect you in some way. Jupiter and Saturn will waltz into your 4th house starting in December. If you’ve been craving a home upgrade, 2021 could bring it. You may also feel less inclined to travel in 2021. If you’ve been away from your lair too much in the past few years, I don’t blame you one bit if you stay home more. The Jupiter Saturn conjunction on the 21st reminds you to put family first. It’s also a signal that your dream home is closer to reality than you think.

Two of Pentacles – It’s all a big, fat juggling act this year. You’ve got a lot on your plate – and your mind. Find the balance as best as you can.

sagittarius astrology

Sagittarius: Money matters are your jam in 2020, dear Sagittarius. Jupiter is giving you more cash to play with as it flits through your 2nd house. But Saturn and Pluto are not going to let you squander that dough. They are also residing in the 2nd house with Jupiter and they want you to behave. So what’s a good Sag to do? Handle that cash flow like a BO$$, that’s what. Pay your bills. Put some away. Look for deals. That sort of thing. I know, I know, your free-wheeling self doesn’t dig that vibe but trust me: you’ll be in better shape before the year comes to an end if you handle your revenue smartly. The eclipses on January 10th and June 20th bring changes with your income. This could be a new source of cash like a side hustle – or unexpected bills that crash your cash party. If you’ve been taking my advice and erring on the side of caution, you’ll be well-prepared should a rainy day arrive. The Saturn Pluto conjunction on January 12th is perfect for committing to fiscal responsibility. Have a last hurrah before that day – and then get serious about managing your cheddar like a pro. Saturn will be in your 3rd house from March 21st – July 1st, a few months where you might be doing a bit of travel. If you need to go away (or want to), a short trip here and there might keep you from feeling stir crazy (you’re always happier when you travel). But on July 1st, Saturn is back in your 2nd house, forcing you to pay the bills and act like a grown-up. Ugh. A bunch of eclipses on June 5th, November 30th, and December 14th could bring changes in your relationship status but also: you’re going through an evolution. Maybe what you thought you wanted in relationships is different at these times? Perhaps you’re outgrowing certain people and wanting more time to do your thang? It’s also possible you might feel like ditching your wardrobe and shaving your hair off. If you want to debut a new look, go for it! The eclipse on July 4th brings a financial surprise. Whether this is a happy one or not remains to be seen. Keep a close eye on your wallet then just in case. When your birthday month rolls around, Jupiter and Saturn will leave your 2nd house and land in your 3rd, setting off the perfect storm for travel and study. Ready to broaden your horizons? Grab your passport or sign up for classes on the 21st when Jupiter and Saturn are conjunct. From there, get ready to hit the road…or the books.

Four of Swords – Rest up. Chillax. You don’t have to do it all. In fact, the more self-care you engage in, the better your year will be.

capricorn astrology

Capricorn: 2020 promises to be huge for you, dear Capricorn. Jupiter has joined Saturn and Pluto in your sign, which means you can go further in anything you desire. The past few years have been a lot of work, but now the rewards are coming in: confidence, personal power, and recognition. Continue with the self-improvement work you’ve been doing. You’re going places! Two eclipses, one on January 10th and the other on June 20th, will bring changes to your relationships. You may be shedding people that you’ve outgrown. Perhaps you’ve hung in there a bit too long. Let go, and you’ll be free to continue your life upgrade. It’s also possible that there may be some other significant shift happening in partnerships around that time that aren’t necessarily an ending. You’ll have to wait and see – and be ready to adapt. Commit to your goals on January 12th when the Saturn is conjunct Pluto. This is a potent day for you and one that could set the stage for future success. Set the intention, lock and load it – and keep your eyes on the prize for the rest of the year. Your ruling planet Saturn will take a step into your money sector from March 21st – July 1st, a period that will require you to overhaul your finances. If you’ve been living too large, Saturn will demand that you course-correct. Set goals during this period and know that come December, you’ll have to get serious about implementing them. This period is a test-drive, but you’ll get a good idea of what is to come. On July 1st, Saturn will backtrack into your 1st house, giving you a few good months to work on developing yourself. Carve out time for rest when a slew of eclipses on June 5th, November 30th, and December 14th hit your 6th and 12th houses. These days are ideal for self-care. If you can take time off from your ambitious schedule around those days, you’ll emerge recharged and ready to slay! The eclipse on July 4th hits your sign directly. This is your star turn, the time to debut a new you, or a chance to release any old stories that no longer reflect the person you’re becoming. December puts Jupiter and Saturn into your 2nd house. This has conflicting money energy. On the one hand, your capacity for earning more has arrived. 2021 could be a better cash-attraction year for you. BUT Saturn wants you to put it away for a rainy day. It can also bring some snafus in your flow (ex: a bigger than anticipated tax bill). You’ll want to find the balance between making that cake and saving a few slices for the future. The conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn on December 21st will tell you exactly how to do just that.

Five of Cups – A few disappointments are possible. Don’t get hung up on the losses. Instead, look at what is still standing – or just around the corner.

aquarius

Aquarius: All’s quiet on the Western front for you this year, Aquarius. Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto are resting up in your 12th house, which means you’ll want to take a step back and ponder the meaning of your life. Rather than pushing for outcomes, this bevy of planets favors a chill approach. It’s also favorable for retreats, meditation, and therapy. If you’re working on your inner life, know that this healing will make you more resilient in the future. The eclipses on January 10th and June 20th light up your 6th house, excellent for revamping your health regime. Get rid of bad habits, start a new routine, eat your greens, destress. You get the picture. These eclipses could also bring significant changes to your job. You’ll want to be ready to pivot around those days. The conjunction between Saturn and Pluto on January 12th is your green light for putting self-care at the top of your 2020 to-do list. Make this your priority, and you’ll see a healthier you emerge as the rest of the year unfolds. Saturn will be spending a short period in your sign from March 21st – July 1st. This can bring about a feeling that your old life is genuinely coming to a close and a new one is developing. When Saturn goes back into your 12th house on July 1st, you’ll have a few months to contemplate exactly how you want that new life to look. The eclipses on June 5th, November 30th, and December 14th hit your 6th bring changes with your social circle – and romantic life. New people may be showing up, and some folks may fade into the background. Let go and remain open to this. The July 4th eclipse is best for rest. While everyone else is throwing shrimps on the barbie, you’re kicking back, meditating on the awesome future you’re creating. December puts Jupiter and Saturn squarely on your side – it’s the Age of Aquarius! You are about to slay like never before. You are ready to lead and inspire. How are you going to change your world – and the world? Set that intention on December 21st when Jupiter and Saturn are conjunct. Then get ready to galvanize the world with your awesome.

The Emperor – You are in charge of your life. You can set the rules and boundaries. Make this your year where you take full responsibility for your happiness.

pisces astrology

Pisces: The past few years have been bringing many changes in your social circle, dear Pisces. That continues to develop in 2020. With Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto lounging in your 11th house, you realize who your real friends are this year. You’re culling your posse like never before. By the time this year comes to a close, you’ll have a tighter group of trustworthy buddies around you. The eclipses on January 10th and June 20th indicate an adjustment in your romantic life. This could be the ending of a relationship, the beginning of a new one – or a fresh start with a current love. If you’ve been craving something different, this might also be the right time to dust off that online profile and begin hitting the dating circuit again. The Saturn Pluto conjunction on January 12th could reveal something significant about a friendship. A situation may come to a head, or a friend could turn out to be a godsend, just when you need them most. Rest up when Saturn slides into your 12th house from March 21st – July 1st. These few months are ideal for inner work. If you’ve been thinking about going into therapy or retreating to an ashram, this would be a swell time to do that. When Saturn heads back to the 11th house on July 1st, you could be renewing friendships with old pals or hanging around with older, mature types who prove to be helpful with your goals. Eclipses on June 5th, November 30th, and December 14th will illuminate much-needed revisions in both home and career. If those areas of your life have gotten stagnant and cluttered, you may find a solution. It’s also possible that something may come to an end with either realm too. If anything changes around that day, know it is for the better. The eclipse on July 4th is a fab day for hosting a firework watching party for your besties. Gather your crew on that day and celebrate! December will see Jupiter and Saturn moving into your 12th house, which is kinda like going into a little cocoon. The conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn on December 21st encourage rest and reflection. You’ll be doing deep work on yourself for a few years. And when that work is complete, you’ll spread your wings and fly high!

Page of Cups – A hint of love is in the air. New romance? New levels with an old parnter? Friends with benefits? Be open and curious…see what shows up.
