The Hit List - Full Moon Hangover

Confession: I’ve never had a hangover. In fact, I’m a great drinker. I can hold down with the big boys. Well, I used to…but I can only drink one glass of wine these days or don’t sleep. Yes, sleeping is more important than imbibing with my buddies. Priorities change when you get older.

Wine isn’t the only thing that impacts my sleep. Full Moons do, too. Either I sleep too hard – or I’m stuck with wicked insomnia. There is no in-between. I wake up the next day feeling like crap, which I imagine is how a hangover feels.

The next day tends to blur as I sort out my thoughts and insights. Because here’s the flip side of that Full Moon: something always gets revealed. A prophetic dream or other sign from the Universe shows up, especially when I am in the midst of a challenging decision. However, the Full Moon hangover puts a cloud over those revelations. Give it a day or two; the picture is suddenly as clear as an empty shot glass.

Last week, the Full Moon in Scorpio arrived. It’s the most psychic Moon of the year, in my opinion. My dreams were vivid, but the messages didn’t land until a few days later. That Full Moon hangover finally let up. Now, there are decisions that need to be made. Decisions that require real bravery instead of liquid courage.

My mother used to have a saying: “If you want the truth, go to a drunk.” Or you could just go to the Moon. The hangover is less unpleasant.
